Future of Retail
The Beekman, 123 Nassau Street, New York, NY, 10038, United States
NYC
Summary
Where flexible technology meets superior customer experience
It's been refreshing to watch the retail industry wake up in the city that never sleeps. Shopping has changed dramatically since 2020, and stores nowadays are leaner and more customer-focused than ever.
Indeed - each and every in-store customer is currently treasured like never before.
So what does the future hold? We are privileged at Commerce Futures to hear stories from all over the world from store owners experiencing the new retail paradigm. In the UK they are investing in “housekeeping” - fixing systems that will enable true omnichannel more easily. In APAC we hear of a renewed drive to build the next generation of eCommerce - flexible and API-first.
Here in the U.S. we are in love with stores, but our customers love convenience too - so we spent some time thinking about the future of our retail businesses - what 2023/4 has in store for us all, and how we should budget and plan for what’s next.
Over the course of our morning conference we heard from retailers about:
- The new tech stack - faster, more flexible and MACH
- Footfall - understanding new value of store customers
- Top of mind - How your retail brand can build brand relevance
- Back to basics - How product information drives everything
