Behold: The Beauty Breakfast

Summary
Remaking beauty in a digital world
For several years the beauty industry has straddled both “real life” and online shopping. As social media shifts again from filtered Instagram towards the rise of the TikTok influencer - consumers are sharing and learning about beauty through a virtual lens as well as in-person experiences.
Beauty brands are investing heavily in-store, encouraging customers back to “fall in love’ with the brand after 2 years of experimentation. Some consumers buying beauty products have shifted to online “forever”, certainly for replenishment, which means that the “wander-past” footfall experience matters even more as brands fight for new customers.
This autumn we focused our annual beauty breakfast on the means of discovery consumers actually use for beauty, and what you can do to truly reshape your digital customer experience profitably both in person and online.
- Discovery v Utility - How to make ALL shopping for beauty exciting
- Positive reinforcement - consistent tone and voice, and customer service improvements
- Consumption metrics - what can you do to predict replenishment accurately?
