AWS: Direction Sustainability
The Marylebone Hotel, 47 Welbeck Street London, W1G 8DN
London
Summary
The toughest journey your business is going to go on
Among so many fundamental shifts in the last 18 months has been a global pressure on C-suite to place sustainability at the heart of business operations.
As we speak in the summer of 2021 - every single function of every business should have an initiative to bring to the table, whether it be large-scale hydrogen programs for the long game or simply a reduced commute volume by staff to meet carbon reduction targets faster.
The news about climate change in the last few weeks demonstrates the challenge facing us all as individuals, and shines a light on the responsibility we have as leaders to respond, and lead the way towards a common goal, of cutting emissions and stabilise rising temperatures.
In our two recent debates in private cross-functional groups we have enjoyed fantastic conversation about how businesses reinvented and transformed themselves through the pandemic without a roadmap. This time we want you to come with your environmental and business minds intertwined - to share and learn as always in a Chatham House environment.
This event is complimentary and is in a Covid safe setting: It will be a small intimate hybrid event for industry leaders. All government and safety regulations will be in place. Unable to travel to London? Join us virtually from the comfort of your own home!
Over the course of our autumn dinner we will be debating:
- What is stopping us? How can we remove inertia and make headway?
- How do we overcome common challenges to hitting our sustainability goals, such as regulatory pressures and financial constraints
- Democratising sustainability - what data points do you need and how do you get access to them?
- Building momentum - Who is best to lead and will momentum always come from the top?
- Being accountable - What are realistic targets to set over what timeframe?
