Summary

How to grow in a cooler climate

As consumer behaviour continues to be hard to predict, the revenue mix between eCommerce, physical retail and wholesale is almost constantly shifting. Oh, and forget planning - we’re still just soaking up the blows, right?

Whilst the economic climate also appears to be “cooler”, it might be time to examine how to grow when the market isn’t red hot. But - the messages are mixed, aren’t they?

A case in point for physical retail with strong 3rd party relationships is Dillard’s. This long-established department store continues to grow total revenues, despite little eCommerce focus. Multi-brand pureplays like Chewy, on the other hand, are also growing super-fast, while focusing solely on improving their digital operations and offerings. Equally, Beauty brands such as Markwins beauty are aggressively targeting growth on the Amazon platform (with all the compromises that comes with).

At our breakfast at Zous Zous in September we want to debate the predictability of growth in the current climate, and the tools you need to achieve it. The session is for senior leaders in digital, Omnichannel, Customer and eCommerce - who are challenged with owning a P&L that is in flux, unpredictable.
